Friday Links II
A modest collection of links that I have stumbled across over the past few weeks.
- Stay Inspired by Derek Powazek – Some good tips on pushing through creative blocks. Also, check out the new Fray. Looks like a super-cool magazine.
- How to Size Text in CSS – An excellent article on sizing text in CSS. Covers setting base font sizes and line-heights, and getting them consistent across the major browsers. Must read for CSS geeks (like me).
- The Witch Fire Book Trailer – An excellent and fairly simple example of a new-ish trend in the literary world: The Book Trailer. The book itself may be cheesy (maybe not), but the trailer probably inspired more than a few sales.
- Hot Dog Chicago Style – A site devoted not just to hot dogs, but to Chicago Style hot dogs. If you’re unfamiliar with Chicago Dogs, visit the site for the skinny. The interesting thing about this site is the fact that it’s run by two average guys who made it on a whim. Now, they are the de-facto experts on the topic of Chicago Hot Dogs. A weird and wonderful place, the internet.
- Personal Inventory – The Erotic Appeal of the Land’s End Catalog – A hilarious diatribe on the women in the Land’s End Catalog. The author refers to the catalog as “the pornography of regret”. A great read that’ll resonate (via kottke).
Adam Snider
Hey Mike, I like the new site, and I’m happy to see that you’ve reopened the “personal” journal here. Good stuff.
