Time For A Vacation
With The Roar safely behind me, I'm indulging in a long needed vacation and break from all events and all things poetic. For the next two months or so, my official response to an invitation to any kind of event will be "no". After putting my life on hold for a few months (Roar planning), I aim to get it back.
First thing I'm doing is flying somewhere. Nova Scotia, to be exact. I'm leaving in two weeks - not nearly soon enough. And staying there for two weeks. Going out there with Kerry and her daughter (my soon-to-be stepdaughter!). That'll mark my longest stretch of time off since last September when I retreated to Europe for a month. This year's vacation will be savoured and enjoyed greatly. I've never seen the east coast. Plenty familiar with the West, but the East really fascinates me. The culture. The weather. The music. The history. It's all so tantalizing. We'll be concentrating mostly on Nova Scotia, as we only have two weeks and one could easily spend a month exploring the maritimes. Looking forward to it. No agenda. No rushing. Just chillin', and enjoying the sea.
Later this year I begin plans for my wedding - to take place in the autumn of 2007. That's right, I'm finally tying the knot. My love Kerry and I have decided to make it official. I'm out of my skin happy about it. Kerry is the real deal. She is squarely who she is with no pretense. No bullshit with her. And she's beautiful. And loving. And an amazing poet. Everything that a partner should be.
Good times, good times.
