Raving and Fellowshipping

Well, tonight is the final night of the Raving Poets latest reading series, Five Wednesdays; One November. Yianni's Taverna, 10444-82 Avenue, Edmonton, 8:00pm. I haven't been attending this series due to a previously mentioned case of poetry / event burnout. I had a nice little break. I managed to muster the energy to take in last week's RP show and I had a great time. It was great to see and hear everyone again and to see some newbies in action. The night was classic Raving Poets - some good stuff, some not-so-good stuff. Through it all, however, the band kept up their brand of awesomeness. It was classic. I would be remiss if I did not mention the talents of one Jadon Rempel, the man who I chose to temporarily fill my spot as Raving Poets emcee. The choice was a no-brainer, really. He is a fantastic poet and an elegant, funny, and charismatic host. He does the evening justice. It was a true pleasure to see the evening in such good hands. Well done, my friend. It was also a true pleasure to just show up and read. That's such a great feeling.

Kerry and I will be attending this evening's poetry rave-up down at Yianni's Taverna. We look forward to fellowshipping and reading and listening. Most of all, we look forward to seeing everyone - to being present in the community that we love so much. See you soon.
