A little light on the links this week. A few things that caught me eye:
- Variety is the Spice of Retail. This is a little article that I penned for SEE Magazine (a weekly here in Edmonton). It’s in the current issue. The piece is all about the storied and fascinating corner stores of old, and how they’re sadly disappearing. I’ve got a few more articles in the clip as well, so keep an eye out in the coming weeks.
- Economy Fitful, Americans Start to Pay as They Go. Great article in the NY Times about fiscal responsibility in America and how, astonishingly, a pay-as-you-go way of living (or not spending what you don’t have) is gaining ground. I’ve lived this way for years…ever since my Visa got repossessed.
- Peter Hirschberg – My Arcade. An absolutely mind-blowing recreation of a vintage arcade. This place looks so totally cool and I really wish it was closer. Brings back fond memories of lining up quarters on the Galaga machine…
