Blood Ink Reading Runs Tonight
Tonight (August 29, 2006) is the Blood Ink benefit show/literary reading. Happens down at Hulbert's Cafe and Bar - 7601-115 Street, Edmonton. 7:30 until 10:30.
Yours truly will be performing. It turns out that I'll have more time at the mic than originally assumed. I'll be kicking out a ten to fifteen minute set - four to six poems. As I've said before, I'm really looking forward to this. Very rarely do I get a chance to stretch out and read more than one piece. When I'm doing my regular gig, hosting the Raving Poets Experience, I usually have a chance to read only one poem per night. The last time I did an extended set was in Spring 2005 at the Single Onion in Calgary with my 'ol pal Mingus (nunt.com). Mingus nearly burned the place down. I stayed sober, kicked out a solid set, and stepped over the wreckage.
So, if you're looking for a good time tonight, hopon down to Hulbert's and watch/hear me do my thing. I even plan on covering David Lerner, if that whets your fancy. Should be a blast.
